Bridge across the Sura River and railroad
for evacuation of the population in emergencies at the chemical weapons destruction site in Penza Region.

The work started in 2nd quarter of 2006 and completed in 3rd quarter of 2009.
Construction of a new bridge in an urban environment. The site represents a set of artificial structures that are integral parts of a single transport structure:

  • Left-bank overhead of 408 meters long, 12x34 meters (cast-in-place ferroconcrete);
  • River section of 221 meters long, 68+89+68 meters (metal);
  • First stage of the right-bank overhead, 287 meters, 43+51+53+51+40+38 meters (composite reinforced concrete);
  • An overpass bridge above the railroad, 146 metes, the scheme of 54+59+44 m (metal);
  • 2nd stage of the right-bank overhead, 280 meters, the scheme of 3?34+19+25+4?34 m (cast-in-place reinforced concrete);
  • Six exits for a road interchange crossing (cast-in-place reinforced concrete);
  • Solid reinforced concrete supports on auger piles of 0.75 m in diameter and 1.2 m without widening, L=30?.
  • Auger piles are filled with concrete using the tremie method. The span structure across the Sura River and above the railroad is done using the sliding technique with the conveyor incremental assembly.

    The installation of supports between tracks is performed without disrupting train traffic. To build supports in the Sura River, peninsulas are filled on each bank, protected from erosion with a pile screen; berths and piers are being built.
