The specialists of the OJSC Spetzmost have completed concreting of the right hand exit at the interchange that links Moskovsky Prospekt to the bridge over the Staraya Pregolya and Novaya Pregolya Rivers in Kaliningrad.
The preparations for concreting took almost a month, and it took over 24 hours to do the job. A total of 1,086 cubic meters of concrete mix were poured into five span decks of the cast-in-place span deck structure which has two traffic lanes in each direction. Two concrete pumps, a stationary Putzmeister and a truck-mounted Man, were used for placing concrete mix.
The builders will have to complete 6 more span decks, each 18-meter long, in the section between Moskovsky Prospekt and the channel span over the Novaya Pregolya River, and now they are putting in place reinforcement cages for the left-hand exit to Moskovsky Prospekt. The Staraya Pregolya River will be spanned using prefabricated reinforced concrete structures, and the exits and the abutment of the main bridge to Dzerzhinsky Street are designed as cast-in-place structures.
The bridge construction is progressing on schedule and is to be completed in December 2012.
