An environmental charity tree planting event took place on October 20 in the Northwest District of Moscow. The companies engaged in Moscow subway construction projects took part in the planting of 1,010 oak trees in the future Subway Builder Park.
Marat Khusnullin, Moscow Vice Mayor, who is in charge of the urban development policy and construction, attended the event. The Vice Mayor emphasized that
“today’s environmental action may be referred to as overcompensation because the subway builders have donated money for the event from the profits of their companies. This is not money from the treasury because the largest subway construction companies have donated their own funds.”
The oak grove will be the place for a landscaped and developed recreational park for Moscow residents.
