Driving Completed of the Left Intrerstation Tunnel between “Zhulebino” and “Kotelniki” Stations of the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya Moscow Subway Line

The driving of the left intrerstation tunnel between “Zhulebino” and “Kotelniki” stations has been completed. The tunneling was carried out using the Herrenknecht EPB-6150 Tunnel Boring Machine.

Construction of the tunnel that is 849.1 meters long began in February 2013. The tunneling was conducted from “Zhulebino” station by Tunnelny Otryad No. 18.

The Herrenknecht EPB-6150 Tunnel Boring Machine will be dismantled and then reassembled in the launching pit near “Zhulebino” station to build the right interstation tunnel between “Zhulebino” and “Kotelniki” stations. The same machine has been used previously for driving the interstation tunnel between the stations “Lermontovsky prospekt” and “Vykhino.”

The “Kotelniki” station facilities are being built simultaneously with construction of the interstation tunnels.
