Russia and China intend to start building a bridge over the Amur river ahead of schedule. The work was planned to start at the end of the year, but work may begin in the coming months.
The negotiations are being conducted by representatives of the Amur government and the Department of transport and communications of Heilongjiang province. Their result should be the acceleration of state expertise and preparatory work.
After a week of negotiations, the documents will be sent to Moscow to obtain a construction permit, the press service of the regional government reports.
Construction of the cross-border crossing between Blagoveshchensk and Heihe was planned to begin in the summer, but later the deadline was postponed to the end of the year. We intend to complete the construction by the end of 2018.
The Russian part of the bridge will be built by domestic companies using a loan of 14 billion rubles. The money is planned to be paid over 15 years, charging people for travel. On the Russian side, there will be 2/3 of the entire bridge crossing: the entrance to the Amur highway, the bridge over the Kanikurgan Bayou, and the bridge over the Amur river.
Heihe started building another means of communication with Blagoveshchensk-a cable car over the Amur river. Its length will be about a kilometer. This section will take about three minutes to pass, and the entire road will take about 20 minutes.
