Picture Stories
USK MOST JSC has completed all the planned works within the framework of construction of the facilities of the Arctic sea port "Sabetta".

The Arctic port of sabetta is located near the village of The same name on the Western Bank of the Ob Bay in the Yamal district of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous district of the Tyumen region.

It is being built as part of the Yamal LNG project, which provides for the launch of a natural gas liquefaction plant based on the Yuzhno-Tambeyskoye field. JSC “USK MOST” is the General contractor of this project, within the framework of which the following types of work were successfully carried out:

At the preparatory stage (2012-2013):

  • A technological channel with a length of 3.9 km, a width of 240 m, a bottom mark of minus 12.4 m and the water area of auxiliary berths has been created. This made it possible to start delivering equipment and materials to the port construction site.

At the main stage (2014-2018):

  • Dredging works were carried out for the construction of the main hydrotechnical facilities of the Sabetta seaport – the approach and sea channels, as well as the port’s water area. Dredging was carried out in two stages in a period of four years of navigation.

Construction of Federal-owned coastal infrastructure facilities has been completed. The equipment for the vessel traffic management system (VMS) and the global Maritime distress communication system (GMDSS) were fully commissioned.

The Arkhangelsk branch of FSUE “Rosmorport” examined the coastal facilities of the Sabetta suds for compliance with national and international requirements. During the entire period of construction of the Sabetta seaport, environmental measures were also implemented in the region, including artificial reproduction of aquatic bioresources and fisheries reclamation of water bodies in the territory of the West Siberian fisheries basin with the implementation of industrial and environmental control and monitoring of the environment. The damage to water biological resources has been fully compensated.

Thus, all the work provided for by the state contract, JSC “USK MOST” has been completed. The new port on Yamal will provide year-round navigation of gas carriers and their passage along the Northern sea route.
