Round-the-clock work is underway on concreting the Blagoveshchensk - Heihe road bridge.

The construction of a cross-border bridge across the Amur river is in an intensive phase. Specialists of the SK Most Group of companies on the Russian part of the bridge, synchronously with their Chinese colleagues – from the China, carry out a complex of works on concreting the roadway plate of the bridge.

“The peculiarity of this type of work is that the concreting part is conducted from vessels, delivery of concrete mix to the site of the bridge is not a bridge, but with the help of barges and boats, bottom fed concrete pumps in place of installation. This technology is used on such large rivers as the Amur, because of the length of the bridge, because of the fact that the stages of concreting the plate of the roadway span are divided into sections, so travel on the bridge can not be carried out”,

– said the chief engineer of the separate division of JSC “USK MOST” Alexander Yuryev.

At the moment, five of the eight captures of the Russian side have been concreted.
Earlier, Russian and Chinese builders successfully carried out the tension of the corresponding parts of the cable-stayed bridge system.
The end of concreting of the entire roadway is planned for the beginning of September.

For the correct inclusion of the concrete slab in the joint work with the metal part of the superstructure, it is necessary to constantly coordinate the order of work on both sides and the amount of effort in the shrouds with appropriate regulation”,

– explained the chief technologist of JSC “USK Most” Alexander Naumovich Volozhin.

Then the builders will proceed to the next stage – the device of waterproofing coating. After that, a specialized contractor will start laying asphalt concrete pavement on the roadway.

Currently, more than 450 people are involved in the construction. The work is carried out around the clock in strict accordance with the agreed schedule.
In total, 1,175 tons of rebar will be installed on the Russian part of the bridge, and 2,527 cubic meters of concrete will be laid. On the Chinese part-a similar amount of work.

Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2019. The opening of automobile traffic along the two lanes of the highway is planned in 2020, after the commissioning of international checkpoints on both sides of the “friendship Crossing”.
