The Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin and the Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation Irek Fayzullin visited the construction site of the new Zeya Bridge in Blagoveshchensk. The head of the project and the head of the Zeya branch office, USK MOST JSC, Eduard Davydov reported on the progress of the project implementation.

“Construction is on schedule. To this date, five bridge piers are ready 100% ready: Nos. 6, 23, 24, 25 and 26. These piers are required for the first stage of the superstructure launching on the left bank, which is scheduled for April. The pre-assembly of the launching nose is underway. Work at the both banks is going on day and night. To date, about two thousand specialists are involved in the project,”

said Eduard Davydov.

The head of the Amur region Vasily Orlov noted that the new bridge across the Zeya is an extremely important facility for the region.

“We closely monitor the work progress, we see that they are on schedule. We are well acquainted with the contractor, we have been cooperating successfully. For example, the USK MOST specialists have successfully erected the cross-border bridge connecting Blagoveshchensk and Heihe, it was them who have repaired the existing bridge across the Zeya, and now they are also building an overpass in Svobodny,”

he said.

“I see that serious work is underway, the builders are doing well. The most important is to put the facility into operation on time,”

Marat Khusnullin emphasized.

Reference Information:

The new road bridge will have twenty-six piers and a cable-stayed structure. The total length of the facility is 9 km, of which 2 km are the bridge section, 7 km are the approaches.

Car traffic on the bridge will be arranged in one lane in each direction. According to preliminary estimates, project implementation will decrease the traffic load on the existing bridge by 40-60%, which will allow the residents of the Amur Region to cover the distance between the city and the federal highway with great comfort.
